Richard Feilden is a born again student. He earned a Bachelors degree in Software Engineering from Sheffield University and scraped a living in the I.T. field until he just got bored of it! He now lives in California and completed a Film Studies AA at Santa Barbara City College (graduating with a 4.0 GPA and awards for Film Criticism and Outstanding Film Studies Student) before earning an MA in Film Studies from Chapman University.  He is now teaching at Santa Barbara City College and hopes to pursue a PhD in the near future.

With Professor Nico Maestu from SBCC, he founded the Film Review Club at the college, which he continues to support.  This club encourages students to engage in discussion, write critically, and visit film festivals (including the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, the Santa Barbara Human Rights Film Festival and the L.A. International Film Festival).  He has also written for RealMovieNews.
